Well, Turnberry Beach rugby 2013 has come to a close and there was fun and laughter from beginning to end.
With teams travelling from as far as Santander in Spain, Turnberry Beach Rugby has now truly established itself on the social and rugby calenders.
GBT were just pipped to the title by a strong Coxy’s Crusaders outfit led by arguably the player of the day Nick Cox who scored the winning try in a nail-biter to take the glory and the title.
The furthest traveled womens side, the Carlisle Cougars, swept through Pool B to go to the semis and meet local side Ayr Ladies runners up in Pool A. Ayr finally finishing the job and stunning a brave Carlisle side to take the title and reach the final where Hills Jills’ awaited them! Hills with no fewer than 5 internationals in their ranks took the game 2-0 and were deserved winners!
A great weekend was had by all and the kind words of competitors and spectators made the hard work of the organisers all worth while. TBR is only possible due to the kind support of our sponsors and for this support we thank you. We have already started preparing for 2014 and we hope that you will continue your support next year and that you will help us to grow the event. Your support is invaluable and without it we could not put on this well loved and enjoyed weekend.
Once again, thank you for your support.
The TBR Team.
